Our Beliefs

We are an Anglican Mission who affirms and abides by the Constitution and Canons of the

Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic (DOMA), the Nicene,

Apostles’, and Athanasian Creeds, and the 39 Articles. But what else do we affirm? Find out below.

God

We believe in one God, who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). He is loving and just, and desires a relationship with each one of us. He is eternal, not created, and is made known to us through the Old and New Testaments.

Jesus

We believe that Jesus is the second person of the Trinity. He is referred to as the Son of God, the Son of Man, God’s Word, Emmanuel, and the Messiah in Scripture. He put on flesh, revealed God’s Word to man, and became the Savior of all mankind through His death upon a Roman cross and His resurrection on the third day. It is His death and resurrection that destroyed the sting of death, conquered sin, and healed the rift between mankind and God the Father .

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity. We believe that the Holy Spirit has spoken through the prophets, inspired men of faith to write the Bible, readies a person’s heart to accept Christ, and dwells within the person who accepts Christ as their Savior. Throughout the life of a believer the Spirit uses Scripture, prayer, and the church to perfect a person and to “write the law on their heart”.

Scripture

We believe that the whole of Scripture is contained in the Old and New Testaments, and that it contains all that is necessary for one’s salvation. Scripture is the inerrant Word of God, and is the revelation of God to humanity. It is the final authority on matters of faith and God.

Humanity & Salvation

We believe that we are created in the image of God, designed to have a relationship with Him. However, this relationship was broken through our sinful disobedience. No person can, through their own merit, heal their broken relationship with God. It is only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross that our relationship with God is restored, that we are forgiven of our sins. Receiving the saving grace that comes through Jesus’ sacrifice does not simply demand that one need only believe in Christ to be saved (for even the demons believe). A person must moreover repent of their sins, surrender their life to God, become an active member of a bible believing church, and love God and their neighbor with the fullness of their heart.

The Church

We believe that the church is the body and bride of Christ, and that Jesus is her Head. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and our neighbor. To the world they serve as the revelation of the Kingdom of God, seeking to save and serve the lost, to heal the broken and sick. and to disciple those who come into a faith in Christ.
