Divine appointments some years ago led nine people to a 4th day movement in the Episcopal Church (TEC) known as Cursillo. Seven people from this group began to meet at the Dzbinski household on Saturday afternoons to pray and worship together. Over time it became clear that God was calling this group to plant an Anglican church in the Baltimore area, and that it should incorporate the name “Christ the Savior” (CtS). Shortly after this revelation they met with the Rev. Becki Neumann (Rector of South Riding Anglican Church, Virginia) and The Rt. Rev. John Guernsey (Bishop of the Diocese of the Holy Spirit) to begin the process of forming a church under the authority of the newly formed Anglican Church in North America (ACNA).
Their first official worship service as The Fellowship of Christ the Savior occurred on Saturday, 5 June 2010, at the Dzbinski home, the Rev. Becki Neumann, presiding. The Dzbinski’s living room served as the sanctuary space every Saturday afternoon for the following two years. They were officially received as a mission fellowship in the Diocese of the Holy Spirit on 11 October,2010, with the Rev. Becki Neumann appointed as supervisory priest. In the weeks and months that followed, God brought them the Baldwins. In 2016 the people of CtS asked Justin Baldwin to serve as their official part-time clergy.
Throughout these ten years CtS has served the community in a variety of ways: healing prayer services, serving food to the people of in our surrounding community and the residents of Ronald McDonald House, worshipping with the men at The Helping Up Mission, Bible studies, and prayer conferences. God is now calling us to venture out from our temporary residence (at Holy Cross Lutheran Church) in a new and powerful way. We invite you to join us at this exciting time in our lives! Be loved, be healed, and be discipled!
